Overview

Scalar is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join its Valuation Services Group in Draper, Utah. This role focuses on performing business valuations and financial modeling for various purposes, ideal for individuals who thrive in high-performance environments and enjoy solving complex financial problems.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform valuations for financial reporting and tax compliance purposes
  • Build and maintain complex financial models
  • Manage valuation engagements from inception to completion
  • Collaborate with clients, auditors, legal counsel, and board members
  • Prepare clear, well-supported valuation reports and presentations
  • Support multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in business valuation or transaction advisory
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems with limited supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High accountability, attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with AI tools for productivity enhancement
  • Currently hold or are pursuing a valuation credential (e.g., ASA, CVA, CFA)
