Overview

KPMG is seeking a Senior Associate to join their Business Tax Services practice in Boston, focusing on mutual fund tax activities. The role involves collaborating with a diverse team to help high-profile clients navigate complex tax compliance and regulatory challenges while benefiting from a future-oriented culture that emphasizes professional growth and development.

Key responsibilities

  • Review tax provision and distribution work papers for Regulated Investment Companies (RIC)
  • Examine the taxability of investment income/expenses and securities transactions
  • Prepare income and capital estimates of RIC distributions
  • Review financial statement disclosures and other supporting documents
  • Conduct quarterly and annual IRC asset compliance testing
  • Participate in technical training to develop tax and accounting skills

Required skills

  • A minimum of three years of experience in mutual fund tax
  • BS/BA degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting and tax concepts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong client service skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to understand financial statements and fund accounting reports
