Overview

As a Seasonal Deli Associate at Aramark in Corning, New York, you will immerse yourself in food preparation, bringing creativity to cooking while adhering to safety and production guidelines. The role involves preparing a variety of foods, maintaining high standards of hygiene, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams food using various cooking methods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food while adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests and co-workers
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures including food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets

Required skills

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
