Overview

US Tech Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Scientist I in Production with a focus on chemistry in Rockford, Illinois. The role involves performing organic chemistry syntheses in a manufacturing environment, maintaining inventory, analyzing scientific data, and participating in team activities to improve manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform organic chemistry syntheses in a manufacturing environment
  • Understand production documents and perform processes to maintain inventory
  • Conduct analysis of reagents, components, and finished products
  • Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, WIP, and finished products
  • Analyze and interpret scientific data
  • Communicate with representatives from other departments and teams
  • Participate in team activities and conflict resolution
  • Identify and recommend corrections to manufacturing processes
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of manufacturing processes
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards in process documents
  • Continuously strive to improve product quality
  • Work to achieve department goals with respect to quality and safety
  • Participate in New Product Development and process development activities
  • Work with EH&S to assure guidelines are followed

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or equivalent discipline
  • 2-3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Solid technical writing skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Processes
