Overview

Nucor Vulcraft is seeking a Sales Engineer to support the Pacific Northwest construction and design market, particularly in Washington, with potential opportunities in Arizona and California. Ideal candidates will have experience in structural or construction engineering and strong client relationship skills, collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver steel solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, architects, and construction stakeholders
  • Promote Vulcraft and Verco steel joist and decking systems within the design and construction community
  • Provide structural engineering expertise to support project design and value optimization
  • Conduct technical presentations and educational events for the AEC community
  • Collaborate on early-stage project planning and specification opportunities
  • Gather market and customer feedback to support product innovation
  • Support project integration and design optimization throughout the sales process
  • Represent Vulcraft and Verco at industry events and networking opportunities
  • Uphold Nucor's safety standards and workplace procedures

Required skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Structural or Construction Engineering
  • Proven client-management experience
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations
  • Commitment to workplace safety and industry best practices
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
  • 4+ years of Structural or Construction Engineering experience preferred
  • Experience supporting preconstruction decision-making preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly
