Overview

The RS Structural Mech III position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Dallas involves performing structural assembly operations in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision. The role requires adherence to design specifications and quality standards while assisting and instructing team members.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, including drilling and riveting operations
  • Fabricate, layout, and install sheet metal parts and equipment on aircraft
  • Rivet structural members and assemblies using various tools
  • Read work orders, blueprints, and sketches to determine operation sequences
  • Ensure defect-free assembly prior to final inspection
  • Instruct and assist team members in interpreting blueprints and drawings
  • Maintain logs and records related to work
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a neat work area

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4 years of structural assembly experience
  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Familiarity with riveting tools and techniques
  • Basic computer and shop math skills
  • Ability to work in small spaces and lift 50 lbs
  • Knowledge of special tools and equipment for close tolerance work
  • Skills in working with composite resins and materials
