Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group's Pottstown Division is looking for a Road Mechanic to repair and maintain diesel and gasoline heavy equipment and trucks in the field. Ideal candidates are energetic, self-motivated, and professional, with a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform work adhering to OSHA, PA, and DoT regulations, and H&K Safety policies
  • Review job orders and diagnose equipment malfunctions
  • Identify parts needed for repairs or replacements
  • Examine and adjust equipment protective guards and safety devices
  • Dismantle equipment to examine parts for defects
  • Replace or repair defective parts
  • Assemble and test operate machines or trucks after repairs
  • Overhaul gas or diesel engines
  • Perform diagnostics using computers and diagnostic equipment
  • Conduct front end inspections and alignments
  • Complete other assigned duties

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CDL B
  • Clean driving record
  • Customer service and teamwork
  • General computer knowledge, especially with caterpillar software (ET & SIS)
  • Ability to use mechanics hand tools, torch, and welder
  • Ability to meet physical requirements for the job
