UNC Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The role involves providing competent clinical nursing care in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art surgical environment and includes responsibilities related to patient education, evaluation of care, and leadership within the nursing team. Applicants must have one year of nursing experience in the Operating Room and be prepared to work a full-time schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week with call and holiday requirements.

  • Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and others.
  • Evaluate patient care and communicate relevant information to promote continuity.
  • Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems.

  • Assess and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families.

  • Engage in research and stay updated on applicable nursing practices.

Required skills

  • Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • One year of nursing experience in the Operating Room
  • Knowledge of healthcare technology and surgical procedures
  • Experience in patient assessment and care planning
