Overview

UNC Health is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for the RN Clinical Nurse II Flex VI position in their newly launched Central Staffing Office, which supports UNC Medical Center and UNC Rex Campuses. The role involves providing hands-on care in acute care, critical care, and emergency department settings, with a focus on delivering compassionate and high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process across UNC Health hospital settings.
  • Evaluate patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and seek guidance as needed.
  • Demonstrate competence in the care of patients with complex problems.
  • Organize and prioritize care according to patient needs.
  • Participate in identifying and addressing learning needs of self and patients.
  • Develop relationships with families to advocate for patient needs.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to prepare or update plans of care.
  • Promote cost-effective care and participate in performance improvement activities.

Required skills

  • Five years of inpatient hospital nursing experience
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of healthcare standards, policies, and safety regulations
