Overview

The RN Clinical Nurse II for the 5BT Short Stay unit at UNC Health in Holly Springs is responsible for delivering competent clinical nursing care in a new hospital setting. This position focuses on providing care to patients in observation status with a supportive nurse-to-patient ratio, while promoting teamwork and professional growth within a positive work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and patients.
  • Evaluate patient care through expected patient outcomes and interdisciplinary discussions.
  • Implement care for patients with complex problems while adhering to nursing standards and priorities.
  • Demonstrate leadership by developing professional growth goals and participating in unit activities.
  • Conduct patient assessments to determine priorities for care.
  • Plan care in collaboration with patients and families, addressing cultural and ethnic issues.
  • Engage in research by reading relevant journals and discussing findings with the team.

Required skills

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • One year of nursing experience
  • Knowledge of patient care and assessment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage complex patient situations
