Overview

The RN-Charge Nurse for the Cardiac Unit at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - Lake Saint Louis provides leadership and coordination for nursing staff while ensuring high-quality patient care. This full-time night shift role includes responsibilities for staffing assignments, patient care evaluations, and collaboration with advanced practice providers.

Key responsibilities

  • Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during shifts
  • Assess daily patient care needs and develop patient care assignments
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers to ensure quality outcomes
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify issues affecting outcomes
  • Respond to complaints about patient care through established channels
  • Participate in staff hiring, training, and evaluations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • One year of registered nurse experience
  • Strong leadership and clinical coordination skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
