Overview

The Retirement Plan Officer/Consultant at Midland States Bank is responsible for developing and managing both qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, ensuring compliance with various regulations, and fostering relationships with employers. This role involves direct interaction with clients to service their retirement accounts and engage in business development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Develops and manages retirement plans established by employers.
  • Ensures completion of IRS and DOL documents and amendments.
  • Communicates with internal specialists to manage employer relationships.
  • Conducts periodic reviews of account fee schedules.
  • Collaborates with clients to select appropriate investments.
  • Keeps updated on changes in ERISA and federal regulations.
  • Coordinates with specialists to conduct participant education meetings.
  • Maintains accurate account documentation and file management.
  • Participates in business development efforts for retirement plans.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 3-10 years of experience in retirement plan administration.
  • Knowledge of ERISA and federal regulations.
  • Experience in investment management.
  • Strong analytical skills for asset allocation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
