Overview

SSM Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join their team at Saint Louis University Hospital, a LEVEL 1 Time Critical Diagnosis hospital. The role involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in respiratory care, contributing to patient assessment and treatment in a collaborative healthcare environment, with a focus on quality patient care and safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established policies.
  • Assess and reassess patients to determine their care needs.
  • Set up, monitor, and implement ventilators and other therapeutic gas functions.
  • Provide aerosolized medication and perform CPR.
  • Assist with bronchoscopy procedures and critical care areas.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate with healthcare staff about patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement and safety practices.

Required skills

  • MO Licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Knowledge of oxygen therapy and ventilator management
  • Experience with patient assessment and respiratory diagnostics
  • Ability to perform CPR and other emergency procedures
  • Skills in aerosol therapy and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Familiarity with clinical trials and healthcare standards
