Job Description

Overview

The Theodorescu Lab within the University of Arizona Cancer Center is seeking a Research Associate with expertise in cancer cell and immunobiology, particularly focused on the tumor microenvironment. This role involves inducing and characterizing induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and conducting experiments using various biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, including Crispr/Cas9 and next-generation sequencing.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and perform experiments in cancer cell and immunobiology.
  • Keep detailed experimental records and analyze results with the Principal Investigator.
  • Develop and implement new research techniques and protocols.
  • Analyze, interpret, and compile data from experiments.
  • Perform both routine and complex laboratory procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of grant proposals and participate in publications and presentations.
  • Meet regularly with the Principal Investigator to discuss research progress and plans.

Required skills

  • PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in cancer molecular biology, cell biology, or immunology.
  • Experience with biochemistry and molecular biology techniques.
  • Proficiency in Crispr/Cas9 technologies and next-generation sequencing.
  • Ability to work semi-independently on research projects.
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills.
