Job Description

Overview

The Regional Engineer at Lane Enterprises will serve as a technical expert on the company's products, promoting them to engineers, contractors, and technical agencies in the Northern Virginia, Richmond, Tidewater, Maryland, and parts of Northeast North Carolina markets. This role combines both remote work and travel, offering autonomy and opportunities for networking to support the organization's growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the technical expert on Lane products to gain acceptance and approval.
  • Expand usage criteria for Lane's drainage products in collaboration with engineers and agencies.
  • Enhance sales representatives' technical knowledge of products.
  • Instruct contractors on proper product installation methods.
  • Identify new business opportunities and applications for current products.
  • Evaluate compatibility of potential new products.
  • Lead the approval process for Lane's products in engineering applications.
  • Participate in planning and presentation at sales meetings.
  • Assist in developing promotional materials for Lane products.
  • Provide technical assistance within the company.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • 3+ years of experience in civil engineering or related sales
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite or related software
  • Previous civil engineering and stormwater experience
