Overview

Marathon Petroleum is seeking a Refinery Mechanical Technician to join their team at the St. Paul Park Refinery. This full-time position focuses on maintaining critical rotating equipment, such as pumps and compressors, and includes training opportunities based on candidate skill levels.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain the refinery's critical pumps, compressors, and blowers
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects
  • Pass a competency test that includes a written test and a machinist skills demonstration

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years' experience as a manual machinist
  • Experience operating a manual lathe and Bridgeport Milling machine
  • General computer skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Mechanical and civil aptitude
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb more than 75 feet
  • Willingness to work in confined spaces and wear SCBAs
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
