Job Description

Overview

SSM Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist II in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This role involves taking x-rays for diagnostic purposes and providing support within the imaging department. The position requires performing various imaging procedures and maintaining patient safety and comfort during examinations.

Key responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients and provide educational material
  • Transport patients and verify their identity according to protocols
  • Position patients for radiology exams
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications
  • Observe and report any abnormal patient activity during procedures
  • Ensure high-quality submission of images and documents to PACS
  • Maintain functionality of equipment and report issues
  • Keep the department clean and orderly
  • May perform limited CT procedures in emergencies

Required skills

  • Completion of a Radiology Technology program
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • ARRT Radiography certification
  • ARRT Bone Density certification (if applicable)
  • Communication skills
  • Patient care and safety procedures
