Overview

SSM Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join their Pediatric Urgent Care teams in North and South County. This full-time role involves taking x-rays, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols. The ideal candidate will support the imaging department and may perform limited CT procedures in emergencies when required.

Key responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
  • Transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying identities.
  • Prepare patients for radiology exams by proper positioning.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and prevent unnecessary exposure.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications.
  • Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
  • Maintain equipment functionality and report issues.
  • Keep the department clean and orderly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required skills

  • Completion of Radiology Technology program
  • ARRT-R certification within 6 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with diagnostic imaging techniques
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of radiation safety guidelines
