Job Description

Overview

SSM Health is seeking a PRN Radiology Technologist to support the orthopedic departments in Wentzville, Missouri. This role involves taking x-rays for diagnostic purposes and ensuring patient care through effective communication and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Transport patients to and from clinical areas and verify patient identity
  • Assist in preparing patients for radiology exams by positioning them
  • Help in filing, delivering, and retrieving patient reports and charts
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice
  • Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormal activity
  • Ensure the prompt submission of high-quality images and documents
  • Maintain equipment functionality and report issues
  • Keep the department clean and orderly

Required skills

  • Completion of a Radiology Technology program
  • ARRT-R Radiography certification
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • Experience in healthcare or radiology preferred
