Overview

As a Per Diem Radiation Therapist at UNC Cancer Care in Rockingham, you will administer radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients under the supervision of a radiation therapy supervisor. This role requires you to perform assessments, interventions, calculations, documentation, and patient education, contributing to exceptional patient care in a state-of-the-art facility.

Key responsibilities

  • Administers radiation therapy according to physician's instructions and patient treatment plans
  • Assists in preparing physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans
  • Maintains patient and billing records according to department policies
  • Performs routine and complex radiation therapy treatments as per established practices
  • Prepares equipment and room for patient treatment while ensuring safety
  • Provides clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists

Required skills

  • Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program
  • Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Board Eligible
  • No prior experience required
  • Knowledge of radiation therapy techniques and equipment
