Overview

PrideStaff - Columbus West is seeking a Quoting and Estimating Specialist to enhance their estimating capacity for structural steel fabrication projects. This role combines technical skills in blueprint interpretation with customer engagement to drive accuracy and responsiveness in the quoting lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform detailed takeoffs and interpret blueprints for structural steel and fabricated assemblies.
  • Collaborate with GCs, engineers, and customers to clarify scope and provide value-engineering solutions.
  • Refine internal estimating tools and Excel templates to improve throughput and accuracy.
  • Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to validate manufacturability assumptions.
  • Analyze historical job performance to enhance pricing models and competitiveness.

Required skills

  • 5-10 years of estimating experience in structural steel or heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Mastery of blueprint reading and fabrication processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems like Genius ERP or Tekla EPM.
  • Familiarity with AISC standards and public project bidding.
