Job Description

Overview

4LEAF, Inc. is looking for qualified Public Works Inspectors to manage and document construction activities for civil infrastructure projects. The role involves inspecting and ensuring compliance with construction documents, along with effective communication with project management.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect and document construction methods and techniques
  • Provide daily inspections and prepare detailed written and photographic documentation
  • Review plans and specifications continuously
  • Coordinate schedules for materials inspection and testing
  • Review pay estimates submitted by contractors
  • Maintain red-lined drawings during construction
  • Report discrepancies requiring corrective actions
  • Meet with contractors to review proposed work and schedule inspections
  • Develop and follow up on Punch List items

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience as a Public Works Inspector
  • Knowledge of Caltrans' Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM)
  • Experience with roadway construction, earthwork and grading, underground utilities, retaining walls, and traffic signali
  • Proficient in computer applications and writing skills
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in adverse weather conditions
