Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to manage the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering projects such as highways, subdivisions, and land development. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and organized, with strong knowledge in stormwater management and municipal land use ordinances.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Prepare thorough site analysis to determine allowable density and layout constraints
  • Prepare horizontal and vertical alignment of street layout and profiles
  • Prepare detailed grading plans
  • Prepare stormwater management designs according to municipal and state regulations
  • Design water supply and sewage facilities
  • Create erosion and sedimentation control plans
  • Manage utility design and coordination for land development projects
  • Travel to field and project meetings to communicate design aspects
  • Write comprehensive and detailed narratives and correspondence

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and job-related documents
  • Strong knowledge of stormwater, erosion, and sediment control
  • Strong knowledge of water and sewer design principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2017 or later and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 or later
  • Driver's license and clean driving record
