Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to manage the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering projects such as highways and subdivisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stormwater management and utility design, demonstrating professionalism and organization in their work.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Prepare site analysis based on municipal land use ordinances
  • Develop horizontal and vertical street alignment plans
  • Create detailed grading and stormwater management designs
  • Design water supply and sewage facilities
  • Prepare erosion and sedimentation control plans
  • Manage utility design and coordination for land development projects
  • Communicate project design aspects with various stakeholders
  • Write comprehensive narratives and correspondence

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and job-related documents
  • Strong knowledge of stormwater, erosion, and sediment control
  • Proficiency in water and sewer design principles
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office
  • Experience with AutoCAD (2017 or later) and AutoCAD Civil 3D (2017 or later)
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license
  • Ability to meet physical job requirements
