Job Description

Overview

RIX Industries is seeking a Production Welder II primarily responsible for performing TIG welding and brazing on various components including compressors and generators. The role demands a high degree of technical skill and the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality TIG welding and brazing
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical specifications
  • Set up and operate welding equipment with proper materials and settings
  • Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance
  • Maintain safety policies and proper use of PPE
  • Support and maintain required welding certifications
  • Troubleshoot basic welding and fit-up issues
  • Maintain welding equipment and work areas in safe condition
  • Monitor material usage and notify supervision of needs
  • Support production efficiency and contribute to cost control
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced welders

Required skills

  • Welding Certification from technical school
  • 3 years of hands-on TIG welding experience
  • Experience with RIX products and fabrication activities
  • Ability to apply technical documentation accurately
  • Shop math skills including percentages and measurements
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems and basic computer applications
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and related equipment
  • Effective communication skills with team and supervisors
  • U.S. citizenship or qualified U.S. Person
  • Ability to obtain DOD security clearance if required
