Job Description

Overview

The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing the 3rd shift operations of the facility, focusing on the production and packaging of finished goods while ensuring compliance with food safety standards. This role includes overseeing personnel management, waste control, and operating within the production labor budget to meet customer orders and organizational goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute production schedule to meet customer orders
  • Establish employee schedule and coordinate work of production associates
  • Train, coach, and supervise new and existing employees
  • Utilize performance measurement systems to provide feedback on productivity, cost, quality, and safety
  • Hold employees accountable for attendance, job expectations, and compliance
  • Manage equipment downtime and product preservation
  • Participate in pre-operation audits and address deficiencies
  • Maintain safe working conditions
  • Support food safety programs and quality standards
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Degree in business or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 2-5 years of leadership experience in production, preferably in the food industry
  • Knowledge of SQF, BRC, or AIB certification
  • Strong computer skills including warehouse management systems and ERP systems
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail
  • Self-directed and able to work without close supervision
