Overview

Lane Enterprises Inc is seeking a Process Engineer to join their team in Wytheville, Virginia. The role involves developing and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and implement productivity improvement opportunities in manufacturing processes.
  • Create and manage a Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Review and enhance existing manufacturing systems with plant teams.
  • Support new production tooling runs and changeovers.
  • Train employees on processes and equipment.
  • Assist in prioritizing equipment needs for capital planning.
  • Manage key equipment installations in conjunction with management.
  • Drive continuous improvement programs and best practices.
  • Lead systematic problem-solving initiatives for manufacturing issues.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and technical work instructions.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Chemical, Plastics, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience in Plastics Manufacturing, particularly in Extrusion, Vacuum forming, or Injection Molding.
  • Understanding of resin production and blending processes.
  • Proficiency in the application of statistics and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Experience with equipment installations.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Experience with plastic manufacturing software preferred.
  • Attention to detail and strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support plant operations.
