Overview

Capital One is seeking a Principal Associate in Accounting to join their Controllers Group in Richmond, Virginia. This role focuses on agile project execution, collaborating with teams to support financial implementation of new products and systems while fostering a dynamic work environment where contributions are recognized and rewarded.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and manage various projects from planning phase through delivery and stabilization
  • Lead and assist in the development, testing, and implementation of project requirements
  • Collaborate on the Bank Core Modernization Enterprise Wide Initiative
  • Facilitate Agile methodology for project delivery
  • Present findings, risks, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
  • Contribute to process improvement and knowledge sharing
  • Participate in key corporate projects such as technology transformation and business initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting (preferred)
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness in changing environments
  • Integrative thinking and analytical skills
