Overview

The Pressman Level 3 & 4 at Cartamundi East Longmeadow LLC plays a vital role in the manufacturing of printed materials, ensuring high-quality production output. This third shift position requires expertise in operating and maintaining printing presses, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and collaborating with quality control teams to uphold production standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor printing presses according to job specifications and production schedules.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on press equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adjust press settings such as ink flow, pressure, and speed to achieve desired print quality.
  • Inspect printed materials for defects and make necessary corrections to maintain quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors and quality control personnel to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during press operation.

Required skills

  • 3 years' experience operating printing presses
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Routine maintenance of equipment
  • Familiarity with safety standards and procedures
  • Knowledge of digital and flexographic printing technologies
  • Knowledge of color theory and ink chemistry
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job orders
