Overview

Pheasants Forever is seeking a highly motivated Precision Ag & Conservation Specialist to join their team in Central Illinois. This role focuses on collaborating with farmers to analyze agricultural operations and promote conservation solutions, enhancing both habitat and profitability through effective economic analysis and data management.

Key responsibilities

  • Engage with farmers to assess their needs and interests in conservation practices
  • Collaborate on economic analyses to enhance producer profitability while providing ecological benefits
  • Maintain relationships with agricultural partners and facilitate communication between farmers and partners
  • Organize and host workshops and outreach efforts
  • Complete customer tracking, data entry, and project reports accurately and timely

Required skills

  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to develop new relationships and make cold calls
  • Knowledge of modern farm equipment and technology
  • Familiarity with conservation programs, including USDA Farm Bill Programs
  • Experience with ArcGIS for data management and mapping
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

What the company offers

  • Starting salary between $46,000 and $66,000, commensurate with experience
  • Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use
