Job Description

Overview

The Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher at Georgetown Hill Early School will work with Pre-K and Transitional Kindergarten children, creating engaging learning experiences in a supportive environment. This role is integral to fostering independence and a love of learning in students while collaborating with a caring team using the PLAN curriculum.

Key responsibilities

  • Support children's learning and development through the PLAN curriculum
  • Supervise children to ensure health, welfare, and safety
  • Support the physical, socio-emotional, and developmental needs of each child
  • Demonstrate effective leadership among the classroom team
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues, and the community
  • Manage the classroom to maintain a safe and positive learning environment

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field for Lead Teachers
  • 90 hours certification for Assistant Teachers
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and instructional strategies
  • Knowledge of MSDE regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other technological tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Team-oriented with a warm and friendly demeanor
