Overview

The Pool Attendant at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area will ensure the safe and enjoyable use of the pool facilities during the summer season. This seasonal role involves maintaining a clean pool area, providing customer service, managing pool capacity, and responding to emergencies.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe pool environment by enforcing rules and monitoring activity
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to pool guests
  • Conduct routine pool maintenance tasks, including cleaning and organizing the pool area
  • Manage pool guest access and enforce occupancy limits
  • Handle entrance check-in procedures and collect admission fees
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Respond to pool-related emergencies and provide first aid as needed
  • Manage patron behavior and de-escalate conflicts
  • Assist with aquatic programs and recreational activities
  • Promote water safety and educate guests on pool policies

Required skills

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification
  • Basic swimming proficiency
  • Conflict resolution and behavior management skills
  • Safety management and emergency response experience
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong communication skills
