Job Description

Overview

The Pool Attendant at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area will ensure a safe and enjoyable environment at the South Troy Pool during the summer season. This role involves maintaining cleanliness, enforcing pool rules, providing excellent customer service, and managing patron behavior while monitoring for safety hazards.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe pool environment by enforcing rules and monitoring activity
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to pool guests
  • Conduct routine pool maintenance tasks and ensure equipment is in working order
  • Manage pool guest access and monitor capacity limits
  • Handle entrance check-in procedures and maintain attendance records
  • Respond promptly to pool-related emergencies and provide first aid as needed
  • Manage patron behavior and de-escalate challenging situations
  • Support aquatic programs and assist with scheduled events
  • Assist with the Summer Meal Program following guidelines and procedures
  • Promote water safety and educate guests about pool rules and policies

Required skills

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (available in-house)
  • Basic swimming proficiency
  • Ability to evaluate and manage patron behavior
  • Experience or willingness to learn program facilitation
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in varying conditions

What the company offers

  • Starting hourly wage of $16.50
  • Seasonal position from June to September
  • Flexible scheduling with minimum 15 hours per week
