Job Description: Location: Wichita, KS Availability: Full-time, Monday thru FridayJob Summary: As a Pond Management Technician you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and ecological balance of aquatic environments in Wichita. You'll develop expertise in aquatic ecosystem management through hands-on experience with algae control, water quality analysis, aquatic wildflowers, and habitat maintenance. We are committed to providing comprehensive on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement, making this an ideal role for individuals looking to build a career in environmental stewardship.Key Responsibilities: Aquatic Habitat Maintenance: Assist in maintaining aquatic ponds and stormwater basins in neighborhoods, both public and private. Chemical Application: Mix and apply registered algaecides & pesticides in ponds and wetland systems, adhering to Kansas state regulations. Water Testing: Test water levels and determine appropriate chemical agents, such as adjuvants and sequestration agents, for water quality management. Water Quality Analysis: Conduct a 12-point water quality analysis as part of ongoing water monitoring efforts. Erosion Control & Bioretention: Contribute to erosion control, bioretention, and landscaping tasks.Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively Strong work ethic and commitment to safety, accuracy, and attention to detail Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds A genuine interest in aquatic life and ecosystems Must possess some boating skills and be able to swimBenefits: Competitive Hourly Rate: $21 - $23 per hour based on experience.
