Job Description

Overview

SSM Health is seeking a Physical Therapist for a PRN role at Saint Louis University Hospital. This position offers flexibility with a minimum requirement of one weekend per month and provides meaningful patient care in an academic medical center environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition
  • Establish, revise, and evaluate a patient care plan
  • Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques
  • Provide education to patients and families by assessing their educational needs
  • Participate in discharge planning and provide home instructions
  • Oversee activities of physical therapy assistants and other support personnel
  • Maintain appropriate documentation regarding patient therapy and intervention needs
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the relevant state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of employment
  • Experience in acute care preferred but not required
  • Strong clinical skills and assessment capabilities
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
