Overview

The salary range for this opportunity is $75,000 to $85,000.Position SummaryThe People & Culture Manager plays a critical leadership role in fostering a high-performance, engaged, and inclusive workplace for a large-scale resort operation of approximately 550 team members. This position partners with operational leaders to drive culture, ensure compliance, develop talent, and deliver exceptional team member experiences aligned with the resort's values and service standards.What You Will AccomplishKey ResponsibilitiesCulture & EngagementChampion a positive, inclusive, and service-driven culture reflective of the resort's valuesLead team member engagement initiatives, surveys, and action planningOversee recognition programs, events, and communication strategiesServe as a visible and approachable resource for all team membersEmployee RelationsProvide guidance and resolution on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, and corrective actionEnsure fair and consistent application of policies and proceduresCoach managers on leadership effectiveness and team dynamicsTalent Acquisition & OnboardingPartner with department leaders to recruit, hire, and retain top talentOversee onboarding programs to ensure a seamless and engaging new hire experienceSupport workforce planning for seasonal and high-volume staffing needsTraining & DevelopmentDrive leadership development and training programsIdentify skill gaps and create learning opportunities for team membersSupport succession planning and internal career growth initiativesCompliance & HR OperationsEnsure compliance with all federal, state (California), and local labor lawsMaintain HR policies, procedures, and team member handbookOversee payroll support, benefits administration, and HRIS systemsEnsure proper documentation and recordkeeping practicesSafety & WellbeingPromote a strong safety culture and partner with leadership on risk management initiativesSupport workers' compensation processes and return-to-work programsChampion wellness initiatives for team membersStrategic PartnershipAct as a trusted advisor to department leaders on all people-related mattersAnalyze HR metrics (turnover, engagement, labor trends) to inform decisionsSupport organizational changes and continuous improvement initiativesWhat You Will BringQualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)Spanish language proficiency is strongly preferred.5-8+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in hospitality or resort environmentsExperience supporting large, diverse workforces (300+ team members preferred)Strong knowledge of California labor laws and HR best practicesWorkday Experience a plusDemonstrated success in employee relations and conflict resolutionExcellent communication, coaching, and leadership skillsKey CompetenciesRelationship building and influenceProblem-solving and sound judgmentConfidentiality and integrityAdaptability in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and time management skillsWork Environment & ExpectationsOn-site role in a dynamic, guest-focused resort environmentAbility to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays as neededRegular interaction with all levels of team members and leadership
