Overview

The Trial Paralegal at Kanner & Pintaluga supports attorneys in high-value litigation by managing case documents, trial preparation activities, and deadlines. This role is essential in ensuring seamless trial readiness and requires a strong understanding of litigation processes, particularly in personal injury cases.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain attorney calendars and track deadlines
  • Schedule depositions, mediations, and hearings
  • Manage litigation records using Microsoft Office and FileVine
  • E-file legal documents through the State E-Portal and assist with federal filing
  • Prepare and finalize court filings and litigation documents
  • Draft trial notebooks and ensure trial materials are court-ready
  • Coordinate experts and trial logistics
  • Support trial meetings and manage action items
  • Communicate professionally with clients and opposing counsel
  • Maintain organized case files and perform related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience
  • 3+ years of personal injury litigation experience
  • Understanding of the discovery process and litigation workflow
  • Experience with e-filing in state court
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with document and case management systems, preferably SmartAdvocate
  • Excellent organization and multitasking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
