Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY The Operational Excellence Manufacturing Engineer will be a key resource in developing and completing manufacturing process improvement projects and best practices across Marion Body Works product lines and manufacturing locations. These improvement projects will increase efficiency, throughput, and quality; contributing directly to growing as "ONE Marion." ESSENTIAL JOB OUTCOMES Actively complete jobs as assigned from the OpEx action item list generated by the production teams and prioritized by the Steering Committee.Identify projects for improvement in cost reduction, processes, quality, and productivity.Support continuous improvement opportunities by managing these projects to successful completion.Monitor manufacturing operations including analyzing production output and labor efficiency.Assess manufacturing processes and develop best practices to improve production rates and quality of output.Support and apply lean manufacturing principles to improve the organization's productivity.Mentor team members on Lean/CI concepts and practices providing an understanding that allows them the ability to apply concepts to improvement initiatives.Measure and analyze resource productivity using time and motion studies and make recommended changes to flow that will ultimately improve KPI performance.Develop and improve manufacturing processes by confirming product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.Justify investment for improvements using validated data for cost savings.Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximizing efficiency.Implement fixture improvements through analyzing existing designs. PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS This position will include a combination of standard office and production floor activities.
