This role develops foundational expertise in industrial surface preparation and protective coating applications. The position actively supports the maintenance of Metropolitan assets, equipment, and facilities. Key duties include assisting with substrate preparation and applying protective coatings to critical water utility infrastructure-such as valves, pipelines, feeders, and gates-to mitigate corrosion and wear. The technician works across a variety of materials, including metals, concrete, wood, polymers, and contemporary composites.
