Overview

The Occasional Chef at Guesthouse Hospitality Company plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences in the absence of the House Chef. This position is on an on-call basis, where the chef is responsible for executing the established culinary program, maintaining service excellence, and adapting to guest needs while ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute seasonal food service for guests following established menus and recipes.
  • Provide superlative internal and external service in accordance with Guesthouse standards.
  • Collaborate with the House Captain and House Chef to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Maintain food handling, cleanliness, and sanitation standards.
  • Adapt service according to guest needs and requests within existing programs.
  • Ensure compliance with local and state laws regarding food safety.
  • Follow kitchen opening and closing procedures.
  • Uphold the values and mission of the Guesthouse in all interactions.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of experience as a Chef in high-end restaurants or luxury hotels
  • Strong knowledge of various cuisines and wine pairing
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • Proficient in following recipes and maintaining quality standards
  • Serve Safe Certification for food safety compliance
  • Strong repertoire of cooking techniques
  • Excellent people skills for working with guests and staff
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours on-call
  • Computer proficiency
