Job Description

Overview

The Mortgage Loan Closer at 7 17 Credit Union plays a critical role in closing mortgage loans or special product loans while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. The position serves as a liaison among various parties, coordinating the closing process, preparing documentation, and communicating effectively to facilitate smooth transactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure application and loan documentation is complete and accurate
  • Prepare error-free closing documents for signing
  • Review title insurance reports and resolve discrepancies
  • Generate compliant Closing Disclosure within required timeframes
  • Communicate with applicants, underwriters, and title companies
  • Schedule and coordinate loan closing between title company and borrower
  • Accurately enter loan information into Loan Origination system
  • On-board loans to the core system
  • Ensure timely receipt of final signed loan package
  • Complete monthly construction loan billing and conversion
  • Stay informed on current trends in real estate lending and regulations
  • Meet individual and department goals
  • Assist in development of training materials
  • Support mortgage loan servicing tasks as needed
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in the closing process

Required skills

  • 18 months experience preparing closing documents or underwriting real estate loans
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Deep understanding of real estate loan regulations
  • Strong PC, Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Customer service attitude and skills
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Byte LOS a plus
