Job Description Job Description Department: Engineering / ProductionReports To: Engineering ManagerPosition OverviewThe Microvellum Engineer is responsible for translating architectural drawings, design intent, and project specifications into accurate, production-ready shop drawings and CNC-ready data using Microvellum.This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are engineered efficiently, manufactured accurately, and installed successfully. The ideal candidate understands both design and production workflows and can bridge the gap between the office, shop, and field.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Shop DrawingsProduce detailed shop drawings from architectural plans and project specificationsInterpret design intent and resolve constructability issuesEnsure drawings meet company standards, field conditions, and client expectationsCoordinate with Project Managers for submittal packagesMicrovellum ProgrammingCreate and modify Microvellum assemblies, libraries, and standardsGenerate cut lists, material reports, and CNC dataOptimize designs for efficient production and material usageMaintain and improve company-wide Microvellum standardsProduction CoordinationWork closely with production team to ensure drawings are buildable and efficientAssist in troubleshooting fabrication issuesSupport implementation of new products, materials, and hardwareProject CoordinationCollaborate with Project Managers and Coordinators on:Submittals and revisionsRFIs and field adjustmentsIncorporate redlines and approvals into final production drawingsQuality ControlVerify accuracy of dimensions, materials, and hardware selectionsEnsure consistency between:Shop drawingsCNC outputField installation requirementsQualificationsRequired:2+ years of experience in millwork engineering, drafting, or cabinet designProficiency in MicrovellumStrong understanding of millwork construction methods and materialsAbility to read and interpret architectural and shop drawingsPreferred:Experience with CNC manufacturing processesKnowledge of:AWI standardsVeneers, laminates, hardwoods, and hardware systemsFamiliarity with AutoCAD Experience in commercial millworkSkills & CompetenciesDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilityAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlinesStrong communication between office, shop, and field teamsProcess-driven with a focus on efficiency and accuracyCompensation & Benefits (Typical Range)Salary: $65,000 - $95,000+ (based on experience)Bonus potential tied to production efficiency and project successHealth benefits, PTO, and growth opportunities Company Description DMA Millwork was founded in 1993 and is based out of Atlanta, Georgia.
