Overview

Astro Machine Works is a 100% employee-owned company located in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, specializing in custom machine building and metal fabrication. They are seeking a full-time experienced Metal Fabricator to work in their All Fab facility, where the role involves fabricating and assembling structural metal products.

Key responsibilities

  • Measure dimensions of completed products to verify specifications
  • Operate welding equipment and perform metal fabrication
  • Read work orders to determine product specifications
  • Review blueprints to ascertain operation methods
  • Operate cutting, punching, and bending equipment
  • Layout and assemble metal parts and structures
  • Smooth metal surfaces and reshape workpieces as needed

Required skills

  • Metal fabrication and layout skills
  • Knowledge of machines and tools usage and maintenance
  • Ability to read blueprints and calculate measurements
  • Experience with sawing, punching, bending, and drilling
  • Welding skills, preferably MIG
  • Ability to use a plasma machine is a plus
  • Attention to detail and positive attitude
  • Dependability and dedication to teamwork
