Monitors and directs workload while delivering consultative and diagnostic results to clinicians. Must possess a strong working knowledge of both manual and automated hematology processes, including manual cell identification. This role places a strong emphasis on staff training, education, and competency development.Responsibilities:1. Collects and analyzes data to evaluate products, procedures, processes and laboratory or program needs.2. Consults with healthcare providers and professionals regarding patient care and program issues.3. Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines. Establishes and reviews procedures and policies.4. May monitor personnel performance, counsel employees and provide input into performance evaluations.5. May provide input into budgetary process by identifying capital equipment needs and anticipating laboratory or program needs.6. May teach Clinical Laboratory Science students, Pathology residents and fellows and new employees7. Monitors daily operation of laboratory or program8. Reviews patient testing results, quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting and management reports.
