Overview

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to work part-time in their Generalist/Core Lab at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. The role involves performing various clinical laboratory tests under supervision to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, with a focus on quality control and patient satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform clinical laboratory tests manually and with automated equipment.
  • Review patient test results for accuracy and notify clinical personnel of critical results.
  • Conduct quality control checks and document corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain instrument checks, troubleshooting, and maintenance according to departmental protocols.
  • Promote patient satisfaction and customer service values.
  • Participate in continuing education and lab meetings.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and handle biohazardous materials safely.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new employees and students.

Required skills

  • Associate's Degree or higher in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
  • Registration with ASCP, NCA, or equivalent
  • Experience with clinical laboratory testing and quality control
  • Strong customer service and patient care focus
  • Time management skills
