Overview

The Mechanic III position at McLane Company, Inc. involves advanced mechanical and electrical repairs, as well as preventative maintenance on refrigeration units and diesel engines. Mechanics work collaboratively in a diverse team to maintain operational efficiency and ensure safety compliance within the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform complex mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Conduct major repairs on refrigeration units and diesel engines
  • Diagnose and repair various systems including brake, electrical, and cooling
  • Execute preventative maintenance and inspections on refrigeration units
  • Complete paperwork and computer input accurately
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers
  • Work independently and in team settings
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule and participate in on-call rotations

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of major diesel and refrigeration repair experience
  • Valid Class C Driver's License (Class A preferred)
  • ASE Certification in Medium/Heavy Truck Brakes and Suspension
  • Thermo King Advanced training
  • Cummins or Detroit certification
  • Experience with electrical diagnostics and welding
  • Ability to read and understand English for job-related tasks
