Overview

Marathon Petroleum is seeking a Rotating Equipment Mechanic to join their team at the St. Paul Park Refinery. This full-time position involves maintaining critical refinery equipment such as pumps, compressors, and blowers. The role requires a strong mechanical background, with responsibilities including the operation of manual lathes and welding. Training will be provided based on candidate skill levels.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on pumps, compressors, and blowers
  • Operate manual lathe and Bridgeport Milling machines
  • Conduct problem-solving and troubleshooting for rotating equipment
  • Demonstrate machinist skills through competency testing
  • Complete projects and tasks as assigned

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience as a manual machinist
  • Mechanical skills including pump maintenance and welding
  • Experience operating manual machining tools
  • General computer skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC credential
