Overview

Plasser American Corp is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Chesapeake, Virginia. The role involves identifying areas for manufacturing improvement, maintaining product quality, designing new products and processes, and ensuring cost-efficiency while adhering to regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze production processes and methods for improvement
  • Design workflows and layouts to enhance manufacturing efficiency
  • Research and develop new processes and products
  • Establish routings for new products and maintain existing routings
  • Lead reviews on products with manufacturing cost overruns
  • Design and recommend layouts and product flows in production shops
  • Review production costs and assist management in decision making
  • Ensure compliance with safety and legal regulations
  • Manage project initiation and engineering analysis
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for manufacturing methods

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering
  • Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in CAD, CAM, and data analysis software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • High level of technical expertise
  • Strong analytical thinking skills
