Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of clients of various size and scope and act as the point of contact for internal and external clientsDirect teams of tax professionals/assistants working on client projectsUnderstand and analyze the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules affecting the taxpayerHelp manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and the budget for projectsAdvise clients and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and adviceWork to assess tax impact on clients, develop tax arguments to support conclusions, and suggest plans to clientsAdditional Responsibilities for Senior Manager:Participate in and contribute to market and business activities that are external to the firm while providing direction to and maintaining managerial responsibility for a teamAct as a coach and mentor to other tax professionals Qualifications: Minimum five years of recent corporate tax experience in the financial services industry supporting alternative investments (investment partnership and/or mutual fund tax experience); previous experience as a tax manager with a public accounting firmBachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Licensed CPA, JD/LLM or EA, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that listProficiency in the taxation of corporations, consolidated entities, partnerships, and other flow-through entitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial informationAdditional Qualifications for Senior Manager:Minimum eight years of recent experience as a tax senior manager in a public accounting firm supporting alternative investments (investment partnership and/or mutual fund tax experience)Solid skills in reviewing 1120 RIC, 1065 tax returns, including Schedule K-1 and experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams KPMG LLP and its affiliates and subsidiaries ("KPMG") complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
