Overview

The Manager of Emergency Services at United Counseling Service of Bennington County is responsible for day-to-day operational management of mental health and substance use crisis services, ensuring compliance and effective response across various settings. The role involves a combination of administrative duties and direct clinical services, including crisis assessment and staff supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of Emergency Services.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling and workflow for crisis response.
  • Provide clinical guidance and supervision to Emergency Clinicians.
  • Conduct crisis assessments and brief interventions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with UCS policies and state regulations.
  • Facilitate communication among community agencies for coordinated crisis response.
  • Maintain accurate clinical and administrative documentation.
  • Support staff development and performance feedback.

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field.
  • Three years of experience in crisis, mental health, or substance use services.
  • Supervisory and program coordination experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to provide consultation and education to community partners.
  • Licensure in Vermont as a Mental Health Professional.
  • Experience with crisis assessment and emergency mental health systems.
